Every Hike · A Story

Walk. The story writes itself.

Every hiking app records the walk and leaves you staring at a map, wondering what to post. TrailStory turns the hike into a finished content pack — card, collage, video and caption — in three taps, before you are back at the car.

Free to download. Tracking stays free, forever.

Track your trail

GPS records every step. Works offline — no signal needed.

Hike becomes content

AI caption. Photo collage. Reels video. Trail card. All ready to post.

Hike with friends

See your crew live on the map. Share a link — they join in one tap.

Three taps

From the trail to your timeline

Four formats

Out of one set of photos

Records offline

GPS, steps and elevation with no signal

Three taps

Tracking never expires or locks
How it works

Three taps from trail to timeline.

No editing app, no manual captioning, no hour at the kitchen table afterwards. You walk; the rest is handled.

Every story starts somewhere. Yours is next.

Start and put the phone away

GPS records every step with no signal needed. Distance, elevation and pace come straight from the device, and steps and calories from Apple Health or Health Connect.

Your best frames, picked for you

When you finish, TrailStory scans the photos from the walk, drops the duplicates and the blurred ones, and keeps the sharpest. Swap any of them with a tap.

Four things, made at once

Trail Card, collage, video and AI Card are generated in parallel, in seconds. Share them all together or take only the one you wanted.

The content pack

One hike. Four ways to share it.

Finish the hike, confirm the photos TrailStory pre-selected, tap share. The same selection feeds the card, the collage, the video and the caption, so you are never picking the same nine photos four times over.

Every format is built for where people actually post — the feed, Stories, Reels and TikTok — and all four come from the same photos you picked once.

Trail Card

Your route drawn over the numbers from the walk. Premium puts one of your own photos behind it, full bleed, with a filter and an editable caption.

Photo Collage

Square, portrait or story — all three formats on every plan. One layout free, five on Premium.

Reels

Thirty seconds, vertical, ready to post. Photos fall in the order the route took them, captioned by where each one was taken.

AI Card

A record broken, a streak continued, or the number this hike was. Free on every plan, and it never repeats what the Trail Card already shows.

Group hikes

Hike together, see everyone live.

Share a link and friends join in one tap. Positions update on the map every fifteen seconds, so you always know who is ahead and how far back the rest are.

One link, one tap
Send it in Messages, WhatsApp or Telegram, or let the people beside you scan a code.
Guests need no account
They appear on the map by name with nothing to install and nothing to pay. Only the person starting the hike needs Premium.
Distance, not just dots
Everyone is shown with how far ahead or behind they are, which is the thing you actually want to know on a trail.
When signal drops
Each person holds their last known position with the time it was seen, and the group stitches itself back together when the bars return.

Questions

Asked at the trailhead.

Recording a track costs battery, there is no way around that. TrailStory keeps the screen off, holds everything on the device and does not talk to a server while you walk, which is where most of the drain in tracking apps actually comes from.

Recording never stops — the track, the elevation and the steps are all local to the phone. Live positions in a group hike need a connection, so everyone holds their last known spot with a "last seen" time until the signal returns. Download the map before you leave and it stays readable for the whole walk.

Not to join. A shared link puts them on the map in one tap, with no account and nothing to install. Only the person starting the group hike needs Premium — everyone invited walks along for free, and the link works for that one hike only.

Your tracks are stored so you can reopen your own hikes, and synced to your account. They are not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used to build a profile of where you go. The privacy policy sets out exactly what is kept.

The tracker is complete. Offline GPS, elevation, steps and health data, a Trail Card with your route and stats, a collage in whichever format you post to, and an AI Card on every hike. Free builds from five photos, gives you one collage layout, keeps your last ten hikes and leaves a small TrailStory mark on what you export. Premium is about the video, the photo count and everything around the walk.
